All Things Autumn • Kath Eats

Here’s more of life lately!

Living in this reversible jacket from Carve Designs

This is such a busy time of year that I feel like I have so many autumn activities to share!

Dinner date with Thomas at Ten

Sushi at its finest!

Sunpins Bowling

If you haven’t been to Sunpins at Dairy Market yet, it’s a blast! Great for kids.

I also loved their kale caesar!

Mini Golf at Keswick Vineyards

Birch and I also checked out mini golf at Keswick Vineyards. While it wasn’t the best course ever (lots of leaves made it difficult), we loved that we could do all 9 holes 10x in a row : )

Compadres

Crozet Book Fest

We drove over to Crozet to visit our favorite local author, Sean, in the Crozet Book Fest! Buy Isle of Hunger!

Crozet Creamery After!

The Arts

I also went with a group to a couple of arts events – the play Airline Highway at Live Arts and the movie Jay Kelly part of the Virginia Film Festival. We loved hearing composer Nicholas Britell speak and play his music live after the movie!

Social Time Before + After!

Family Fun

I love that Birch is reading Frog and Toad now! It’s one of my all-time favorites. Second pic: visiting Ellen’s kitties!

And I love that Mazen is willing to help me cook! He basically took over this meal.

I also love having a personal assistant at the grocery store : )

Gift Ideas!

As holiday gift guides are ramping up, here are two samples that were sent to me that I’ll be including in mine.

Fishwife has a bunch of perfect foodie gifts. This is the Starter Pack that comes with the most beautiful tin. Great gift for dads and seafood lovers!

Avaline Wines are perfect for the holidays and they are organic with no additives or added sugar. Unlike some wines that I sometimes feel hungover while I’m still sipping them, this brand has not given me any negative effects. Here is my blog post about them. A set makes a wonderful gift!

Kath Eats Real Food

Oatmeal season! I’ve been eating all the oats with cottage cheese. The all-time-best combo!

And I even got to enjoy OIAJ!

Every fall, I also get hooked on cottage cheese and grapes. It’s something about the texture!

Girls night at Arepas Steakhouse!

Homemade venison chili after our friends gave us a pound of their venison!

Salmon + roasted veg dinner

We’ve also been baking quiches two at a time and freezing them for easy weeknight dinners.

Takeout from Sticks!

Another easy dinner: rotisserie chicken, steamed broc, rice, and yogurt sauce.

Food truck from Twisted Oak BBQ.

My favorite go-to lunch: cod cake salad!

And last but not least: the last of Dad’s bday cake from last year from the freezer!! Split with the boys and served with vanilla ice cream, it was just as good as the day we had it!
