School Specialty and Partners Help Restore CA School

Earlier this year, the nation watched helplessly as wildfires ravaged Southern California. One of the communities impacted by the Eaton fire was the Eliot Arts Magnet School in Pasadena. Eliot Arts is the only public arts school in the San Gabriel Valley. This art-centered magnet school serves middle schoolers in the area and offers a program integrating the arts into every subject.

After the January fire left the school uninhabitable, educators and students moved to McKinley Middle School. Knowing how disruptive having the students displaced is, the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation, CFP Bowl games, and School Specialty have joined together to pledge a total of $1.5 million toward restoring Eliot and supporting McKinley.

“It’s a privilege to contribute to the Pasadena Unified School District’s ongoing efforts to empower students and educators. We are proud to support their community as they move forward with strength, unity, and hope.”  – Ryan Bohr, School Specialty CEO

The history between Eliot Arts Magnet School, the CFP, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, and School Specialty dates back to 2023 when these organizations partnered to renovate the school’s historic library. School Specialty is honored to partner once again to help restore Eliot and aid in the community’s healing.

“This generous support brings hope and momentum to our recovery and reaffirms the power of community partnerships in rebuilding schools that inspire creativity, resilience, and pride.” – Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, PUSD Superintendent
